Technology Committee 2011-2012

The Technology Committee for Socorro Consolidated Schools helps create and update the Technology Plan, participates in the evaluation of E-Rate vendors, and advises the Director of Technology on the technology needs of the schools.

The Technology Committee is currently operating under the NMPED approved Technology Plan for 2010-2013.

The following are the members of the 2011-2012 Technology Committee:

• Vernon Smith -- Chairperson and Director of Technology (Chairperson, NM Council on Technology in Education  and President-Elect, New Mexico Society for Technology in Education).

• Cecilia Huang -- Vice Chairperson (Socorro High School) 

• Grabiel Silva (Sergeant-at-Arms) -- Tech Department

• Craig Addis (Technical Advisor) -- Tech Department

• Christopher Armjo (Site Advisor) -- Tech Department

Meetings

The Technology Commitee meets the 2nd Thursday monthly from 3:45-5:00 PM in the Professio0nal Development Room in the Technology Center (GRADS on Fisher Avenue).  The meetings are open to anyone.

Goals for 2011-2012

1.  Continued placement of 3M Short-throw projectors with Interactive Whiteboard tools

2.  Inproved availability of Tech Team for teacher training and classroom support

3.  Identifying the level of technology expertise and use in our classrooms

4.  Expanding the integration of technology into the classroom and broadening the available tools
